If there is one thing you can give to the
Philippines, what is that gift?
Thinking about Philippines as a whole country despite its "archipelagic" form, I find it difficult to come up with an idea of a gift that will fully embrace everyone, every citizen, every person or even every child living in it regardless of social status and financial capabilities. It is a challenge I am not very good with but I felt compelled to try because it gives me hope that a country, a place like Philippines is worthy of growing into a better, stronger, and a happier country.
I could wish for world peace, eradication of poverty and
corruption, equality or even millions of training and workshops or job fairs
for the people but no I won’t. I could wish for many things to be given to the Philippines
but I believe that even if we have all that we need if we don’t know how to
value or use it wisely, we can’t possibly be happy as a person or as a country.
A blue clock ;)
Why on earth do I want to give the Philippines a blue clock?
It’s simple…it’s because even if I don’t have the capacity
to give the Philippines some TIME I could give a clock to remind all of us that
we all have the same number of hours in a day and the time is ticking which
means we need to move forward, to do something right this time because we can’t
turn back time and undo the past. We need to think ahead and not look behind
where all the bad times went. We need to know that every minute counts and
every second is an opportunity to make even the tiniest change that will sooner
or later be a huge change.
Why blue of all the colors?
Aside from the fact that it’s my favorite color, it is a
color of trust, responsibility and freedom (empower-yourself-with-color-psychology.com)
which is a good quality for Philippines to have. We all deserve to be worthy of
trust, to be responsible and to be free. We all have the capacity to be better,
to be stronger to be happier...we just need to remind ourselves everyday that
we can do it! Oh and let me add in the fact that “GLOBE”, its dominating color
is blue as well. Isn't that serendipity?
Let us color the Philippines blue this year! And join the
#GLOBEprojectWonderful2014 because you wouldn't want to miss such project that
could make a change in our country.
