I always thought that planning & preparing a big party is fun. Well, I was right but I didn't know that it would be a big stressor at the same time. I've been planning my party for almost five months and I'm not sure if it'll be good. The party's on Friday and I'm stressed so far. This post should be a way to sublimate my stress despite my " busyness " in preparing my party. I'm turning eighteen in four days but I can't feel it. :)))
So when preparing a party, you first have to think of the number of guests that will be attending your party. Try to estimate and list them all down on a mini notebook or just type it in a word document--just make sure to have a back up file. In my case, I did both. I have two little notebooks and tons of files in my net-book. Listing is one of the difficult part especially when you only plan to have a limit on the number of guests.
Next thing to be worried of is the theme and motif of the party. It took us--my friends and I-- minutes to decide about the theme which should be the "HOLLYWOOD" kind of party but considering the dress code and modesty, it's out of the list. I tried asking more people about the theme that is simple yet good and they told me it's "MAGICAL". So magical it is and since my favorite color is blue...the motif is blue.
Then the most stressing part was choosing the venue. I almost gave up because it took us months (of changing venues) to finally decide where to hold the party. Well, it's finally arranged and I'm holding it in a hotel and the food & cake, candles and roses are all included in the payments. hihi. Thank you so much for my ever-supportive mommy for making the reservation possible. Although saying "I love you" is not enough to thank you I'll still say it. I love you so much mommy!
My outfit is next! I've been sketching a lot months before the big day and my friends helped me design it. So when we went to "Traje" where I had my gown done, they just re-sketch my design better and made some more touches to make it look good. I don't want to post (even if I want to) the sketch of the gown because I want to surprise everyone. I'll give you a clue. It's aqua blue in color. <3
My shoes, my shoes, my shoes! I bought them on PEOPLE ARE PEOPLE. It's supposed to be blue too but the only color that was available was black. It's okay, I still like the design of the stilettos.
Next in line is the photo booth. Fortunately, I have a friend who has an in-law who owns a photo booth business. I had a good discount! This is one of the reasons why I love my friends. :"> The photo booth's name is VANILLA FOCUS. If ever you need photo souvenirs of the most momentous events in your life, try VANILLA FOCUS.
Last but not the least, are invitations. I had a difficult time giving them because the printing was done after the semester ends and most of my guests are my block mates and high school friends but it turned out fine since we had a meet up yesterday. The rule is "no invitation no entry" . Sorry, I'm quite strict when it comes to the limit of number of guests. I wish I could invite everyone. :(
I'm sorry about the not-so-good picture quality...I used my phone instead of a good handy camera. I wanted to post more details but I don't have enough time. I'm still going to call some people to finalize everything. WAAAH. Another stressing thing is my phone bill -___- I call a lot because I'm too slowpoke to text people. I still have a few problems hanging and I need to fix them before the big day. ugghh. I have to gooo. I'm going to post about the party next week!
Wish me luck :*
